RADNOR TOWNSHIP
COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN UPDATE
Radnor Township
Delaware County, Pennsylvania
Nestled in the eastern suburbs of Philadelphia and headwaters to both the Darby Creek Watershed and Gulph Creek Watershed, Radnor Township is a flourishing municipality full of numerous cultural, historical, commercial, natural, and educational resources. These abundant resources present a planning challenge as emphasis is placed on balancing resource conservation while planning for the future.

Cahill Associates was selected out of a pool of nationally recognized planning firms to undertake the Update to the 1988 Comprehensive Master Plan. Taking a sustainable watershed planning approach, Cahill Associates worked individually with specific planning Focus Groups that represented various viewpoints within Radnor Township. This holistic approach to planning resulted in more than just a planning document, but rather, the Plan was formulated with recommendations to be implemented by the township.

Additionally, as part of this process, Cahill Associates developed a GIS database for the township that included creation of existing land use and zoning by parcel, hydrology, soil series, geology, and recreational/historical resources. Once developed, the GIS was used to analyze the impacts of a potential riparian buffer ordinance on property owners within the Township, as well as prioritize lands for the newly formed Radnor Land Conservancy, a land trust organization within the Township.
