About Cahill Associates |
|
Cahill Associates (CA) is an environmental consulting firm specializing in Water Resources Management, Environmental Planning, and Sustainable Site Design. Our firm is committed to managing and sustaining our valuable land and water resources while meeting the increasingly demanding needs of society. Our professional staff of environmental engineers, planners, scientists, and computer experts offers a comprehensive array of services to meet the needs of our clients.
CA has been performing environmental studies and water resources projects throughout the US since 1974. A fundamental challenge in this work is to balance the human uses of land and water resources so that we live within the sustainable limits of the natural systems. Cahill Associates has been active in the Sustainable Design movement, serving on the U.S. Green Building Council's Site Design committee for the LEED Green Building Rating System. We currently provide evaluation of projects seeking LEED certification for the US Green Building Council. Cahill principals are frequent invited lecturers on the topic of Sustainable Site Design at conferences across the country. Cahill has long recognized the interconnection of water related issues - stormwater, groundwater, wastewater, flood control, water supply - and the need to manage our water resources on a watershed basis. As a firm, Cahill is committed to a Sustainable Watershed Management approach in all our water resource projects. With the fall 2006 release of Building Better II: A Guide to America's Best New Development Projects, The Sierra Club presents ten "outstanding examples of new development that use innovative and environmentally sensitive methods of stormwater management." Cahill Associates, Inc. is proud to have been involved with two of the projects, the UNC Expansion in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Philadelphia Green Urban Greening & Stormwater Projects. |
